The requirements

Expert Thinking were looking for a brand refresh, they wanted a new website and a brand reset, with new logos and brand colours. Expert Thinking is a fast-paced, ever-evolving company, they often have exciting developments and new technology or success stories to shout about. Not only did they need a new website but they needed a company that could support them to manage their website and any future requirements.

Expert Thinking are experts in cloud application and data platform architecture, engineering, operations and support. Their mission is to use their expertise and know-how to maximise the value and benefit of cloud technology for our customers.

The process

With Expert Thinking looking for a brand refresh, we prioritised perfecting the logo and brand colours, which were then integrated into the website design. We then had a meeting to generate a strong understanding of the target audience and what they would expect to see from Expert Thinking, with the target audience at the front of our mind we worked on the designs for the Expert Thinking new branding, creating a sleek, professional brand for Expert Thinking that is still recognisable from their previous branding, however, updated and improved.

We provided multiple logo variations and colour schemes to Expert Thinking and arranged meetings to review the designs and colour schemes and make amendments, after a few design tweaks and logo alterations, we had our design ready to be signed off.

Once we had the new branding signed off we created the wireframe for the new website, considering the target audience, it was important to build a user journey that would allow all the users to easily navigate through the information on the website. Once the wireframe was created, we designed 5 homepage variations that we shared with the client, we then met to review these designs and make amendments to create the perfect homepage design, once we had made alterations, we signed off on the homepage and moved our focus onto the internal pages, creating a design for the page styles and presenting these back to Expert Thinking for approval. Once we had approval on all pages we developed the pages into the website. Once the website was developed on a staging site we reviewed the website before going live.

Once the website had gone live, the work didn’t stop there. Expert Thinking have been working on loads of fantastic projects since the launch of the website and wanted to make sure their website evolved to tell the story of what they are working on. We added new pages to the website such as https://expert-thinking.co.uk/support-the-goals/ and https://expert-thinking.co.uk/kubernetes/ as well as updating blogs to the website of the company updates that have taken place.

The outcome

Expert Thinking have now optimised their website so that it effectively presents their content to their users. Not only this, but we have a great working relationship with the team at Expert Thinking, working closely with them as an adjacent part of their marketing team, with regular meetings to discuss website updates and new pages to be added to the website. Now, their website is continually evolving and upgrading – setting them apart from competitors. We have seen their business go from strength to strength and are excited to see what comes next from the cloud pioneers!
